It’s been a busy couple of months since I thought I’d start up the blog on my site again – which has inevitabaly meant I haven’t quite got around to actually doing it!
In the last wee while I’ve been busy with a mixture of absolutely everything; submitting pre-applications, full planning permissions, building warrants, amendments to warrants, been on site, been out to look at potential sites and had some “discussions” with various consultees who like to throw spanners in the works (mr roads man, I’m looking at you)
That is the best thing about being self employed; the variety. The worst thing is getting paid – or not as the case can sometimes be!!
It’s always difficult when you do the work, then have to spend more time chasing bills – I’ve heard of some guys that don’t submit/issue drawings until they’ve been paid, which I think I’m going to have to adopt…
On a brighter note, I’ve been asked to look at a couple of interesting jobs around the island and have (hopefully) picked up my first job over on Iona.
I have also managed to add the orange pickup to the work car fleet 🙂
